Museums at Night in October 2017

There is a chance to explore art, history and heritage after dark next week with Museums at Night events across the country, part of a UK-wide festival of Lates in museums and galleries which is held every two years.

Here’s a taste of what’s on offer.

Attend the UK Premiere of Aquasonic in Glasgow
This is an otherworldly, underwater spectacular from Denmark. Working with divers, scientists and instrument-makers to investigate the ways in which science and art can meet and influence one another, Between Music have developed compositions for five musicians submerged in vast tanks of water that glow in the darkened space.

Halloween Terror Tour at the National Justice Museum in Nottingham
Voted the ‘most haunted building’ in the UK, walk in the steps of those who were condemned, imprisoned and executed in years gone by.

Visit Middleton Hall in Tamworth, Staffordshire by candle light
Listen to spooky tales from the Hall’s 950 years of history…under 18s free

Sleepover in a 16th Century Hampshire barn.
With a variety of nature themed activities including broomstick making, campfire cooking and night time nature walk. All materials, refreshments and breakfast included. Children age 5yrs + £20 Adults free

Join the Library of Screams at Strawberry Hill
A promenade show uses the atmospheric spaces and creepy Woodland Walk of Strawberry Hill House & Garden, Horace Walpole’s little gothic castle in Twickenham.
